Emily Belknap, LISW-CP
Owner – Bridgepointe Therapy
Nearly a decade ago, I opened my practice to provide therapy to children (10 yrs +), teenagers, and adults. Earlier in my career I worked at a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adolescents where I facilitated individual, family and group therapy sessions, and led the self-injurious behavior treatment track. I have spent much of my career working with adoptees, and as a result, I specialize in related areas including trauma, grief and attachment.
Treatment Models I Use:
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
- DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
- Memory Reconsolidation
- Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping)
- Training for Adoption Competency (TAC)
My Qualifications:
- Licensed Independent Social Worker – Clinical Practice (LISW-CP) in South Carolina
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from University of Maryland, Baltimore
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from James Madison University
Fee
Sessions are 50-minutes long and the fee per session is $150. I am an out-of-network provider, and will provide a Superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement if you have out-of-network benefits. I accept FSA and HSA cards.
Working With Me
I am available for in-person and video sessions. In therapy, consistency is key. I recommend starting with weekly or every other week sessions to build momentum and allow you to observe the healing and growth you want. Whether you or your teen are ready for therapy or hesitant about opening up, I use the first sessions to understand you and your situation, and build a collaborative relationship that will allow us to make progress moving forward.
